Accommodations

We will not have a host hotel for the 2025 Convention. You can choose the hotel that best suits your budget and preferences in the Frederick area. And, since Frederick is centrally located for many MOS members, participants living nearby have the option to return home each night.

When we have a host hotel, most field trips depart from the hotel parking lot. All meals and socials are hosted at the hotel.

In 2025, all field trips will meet on site at the field trip destination. Breakfast and lunch will be on your own. Socials and dinner will be hosted in Frederick at these locations:

While this year’s event will have a slightly different format than in the past, we’re confident you’ll find it offers exciting new benefits and opportunities to fully immerse yourself in the birding of the Frederick region.

We will return to a host hotel for the 2026 Convention, which will be held in Solomons, MD, during May 15 – 17, 2026.

Do you need a roommate for the MOS convention?

Please fill out this form to enter your name and information so that we can match you up with a compatible roommate. Matching will be based on gender. Once a match has been made, you and your potential roommate will receive an email informing you of the match and provide each of you with the other’s name and email address. You can then reach out to each other to assess whether it is a good match or not. If there is no same gender available for a match, we will notify you at the email address you provide.

If you would like to find a different match or want to withdraw from being matched, email convention@mdbirds.org indicating that you would like a different match or you don’t need a match any more. Include your name and email address. We will confirm we received the change and find you a new match or take you off the list. If there is no match available, you will be notified there is no match.
