Convention History
Every year MOS hosts an annual convention for MOS members and the general public. Convention locations vary from year to year to sample Maryland’s great diversity of species and habitats. Usually these are held in the spring or early summer when birds are migrating or nest building but are occasionally held in August to catch the shorebird early migration southward or in February in Ocean City to see the wintering waterfowl. Recent conventions have been at: Solomons Island, Chestertown, Ocean City, Salisbury University, Hagerstown and McHenry.
