Field Trip Departures

For the 2024 MOS Convention, we have been given special permission for field trips to depart from the Days Inn parking lot, located on Baltimore Avenue between 22nd Street and 23rd Street. The use of the Days Inn parking lot avoids the use of the Grand Hotel parking garage, which is not ideal for field trip departures.

We will have the Days Inn parking lot divided into two sections, Parking Lot A and Parking Lot B. See the Google Map below for the parking lot location, and it’s close proximity to the Grand Hotel.

We have been given special permission to use the Days Inn parking lot for field trip departures only. We must abide by the following rules:

  • The Days Inn parking lot is to be used during the day for field trip departures only. We do not have permission to park vehicles here overnight. All MOS convention participant vehicles should be returned to the Grand Hotel parking lot or parking garage after field trips return at 4:00 pm on Friday and Saturday and 11:30 am on Sunday.
  • We encourage you to make carpooling arrangements before arriving for your field trip departure in the Days Inn parking lot. We will have field trip participant lists on display in the Grand Hotel, including sheets with columns labeled “Need Ride” and “Can Drive/# Additional People” for each field trip. Next to your name, please let your fellow convention participants know if you need a ride or are willing to drive.
  • If you are driving a vehicle for the field trip, please drive to the designated parking area in the Days Inn parking lot for your field trip. All vehicles should enter the Days Inn parking lot from 22nd Street.
  • If you are riding in someone else’s vehicle for the field trip, please walk from the Grand Hotel to the Days Inn parking lot. We need to keep spaces available for other field trip departures after your group leaves.
  • Field trips will depart at 15-minute intervals. Only two field trips will depart at the same time due to limitations in the parking lot.
  • All field trip caravans should depart from 23rd Street to avoid congestion in the narrow parking lots. We want one linear flow of vehicles entering and exiting the parking lots. Field Trip Coordinator Jim Rapp will be there to direct traffic during each field trip shift.
  • Please help out drivers with a contribution towards the cost of gas.
  • Some venues have a nominal entrance fee per vehicle. Please be prepared to contribute to this cost. Information about entrance fees and accepted annual passes are included on the Field Trips page.
